Sliding door problems

The sliding door to the owners cabin (port side) is fitted with wheels. These wheels have ball bearings. On paper that is a good choice but in real life these ball bearings pick up dust and hairs. The ball bearings are made of steel, so they will rust. The wheels eventually will start to slide, instead of roll.

The wheels also have a small plastic guide to keep them on the track. In bad weather I lost my balance and fell against the door. One of the guides broke off. I did get replacement wheels from FP but that took quite some time. In the mean time I sourced the same wheels, but without ball bearings on Amazon. Search for Roll 42 from KLEIN on line and buy a spare set. One day you will need them.
