Our first catch!!
Let’s start with the statistics first. From Ayamonte to Cadiz we covered 71,5 NM in 11,3 hours with 2 hours of motoring. ONLY 2 HOURS MOTORING! Must be a new record! Not sure still if the digital log has been kept up to date with the right info though … We knew it would be a long sailing day and after a rocky anchorage the night before we left very early, as we were up already anyway. We left around 7.30 or so. We had a beautiful sunrise again and off we went. A perfect easy sailing day. We installed the fishing rods again, hoping today we would be early enough to catch a fish! The weather was very very calm, so I decided to make pancakes for breakfast! We were just about to set on the table when the fishing reel went off! 10.02 to be exact! Waaaaaaaaahooooeeeeee! We caught a fish! Our very first fish! My god, excitement all over haha! What to, how to handle. Knife, cutting board, water, alcohol! What kind of fish was it anyway? How to prepare the fish? Plancha style, grill pan style? So many questions! And this all for this fish we just caught! Really, living on board makes you happy with little things like catching a fish. Well, it kept us busy for about three-quarters of an hour and by that time we had beautiful fillets of a Bonito. We finished our pancake breakfast (brunch by than) and enjoyed a fantastic day of sailing to Cadiz!

Cádiz is the capital of the Province of Cádiz, one of eight which make up the autonomous communities of Andalusia. Regarded by many as the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe, with archaeological remains dating to 3100 years. It has been a principal home port of the Spanish Navy since the 18th century. Situated on a narrow slice of land surrounded by the sea‚ Cádiz is a typically Andalusian city with a wealth of attractive vistas and well-preserved historical

To the airport of Seville
To go to the nearest airport, which is Sevilla, you can take the train. The marina people will bring you to the nearest train station and pick you up as well. Very good service! TIP: you have to order the train tickets to Seville in advance to be sure that you have a seat. We could not buy any tickets anymore, everything was full. So we had to take a taxi. This will bring you to the airport in an hour and 15 minutes and costs you euro 180. Going back to the Marina we did not have any problem with the seating on the train.

Back in Holland
So happy to see Annieck our daughter again! After a few weeks, it is always nice to reunite.  We celebrated my birthday, saw friends and family, Robbert has been working in the office, organising shipments for customers. Always busy when coming back for a short time. September 14 we flew back, 15 we stayed for one more day in the anchorage Ensenada del Aculadero outside the marina preparing for our trip to Gibraltar tomorrow!
